DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM EDT (0300 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Fred was located near latitude 42.9 North, longitude 71.8 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the east-northeast near 13 mph (20 km/h), and its forward motion is expected to gradually increase overnight. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1009 mb (29.80 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: Post-Tropical Cyclone Fred may produce 1 to 2 inches of additional rain across Downeast Maine overnight before moving offshore.
